Molding

Advanced equipment and our unmatched knowledge of Liquid Injection Molding, HCR Transfer Molding, and Overmolding enables Cirtec to accommodate complex geometries, while optimizing clinical outcomes and ensuring compliance.

Liquid Injection Molding

State-of-the-art liquid injection molding machines are automated to run faster than other processes and reduce labor costs on custom parts. While liquid injection molding is ideal for processing a wide array of liquid silicone rubber (LSR), it is typically selected based on material requirements and is often geared for higher volume applications. Cirtec’s capabilities extend to low volume liquid silicone injection molding production as well.

EXAMPLES OF HIGH-VOLUME COMPONENTS:

  • Valves
  • Seals
  • Diaphragms
  • Syringe plungers
  • Septums

EXAMPLES OF LOW-VOLUME COMPONENTS:

  • Implantables
  • Overmolded catheters

HCR Transfer Molding

Cirtec specializes in transfer molding using high consistency rubber to produce micro to mid-sized products. The process uses the latest technology to minimize process waste and create more cost-effective end products. Cirtec continuously strives to utilize standard tool sizes and maximize cavitation while employing quick cycle times.

Overmolding

A commitment to engineering, technical expertise and product development extends to two component molding (2K) projects and it is what sets us apart from the competition.

Cirtec has extensive experience in overmolding elastomers onto various substrates. We can use a mechanical bond, a chemical bond, or both to ensure overmolded products will function as designed.

Cirtec’s proactive approach and major investment in proprietary adhesion test mold and methodology ensures proper validation for numerous substrates and elastomers used in both HCR and LSR processes.
